Rapper Rod Wave has landed in legal trouble once again after being arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, on multiple weapon and drug charges.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, the “Heart on Ice” star — real name Rodarius Green — was booked on possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, reckless driving, and possession of Schedule II and Schedule V controlled substances.
Rod remains in custody as of Saturday morning, though his attorney Drew Findling confirmed to TMZ that he’s already appeared in court and secured an $8,000 bond.
Legal Team Speaks Out
Rod Wave’s attorneys — Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg, and Zack Findling — released a statement condemning the arrest, calling it an act of unlawful profiling by the APD’s controversial Crime Suppression Unit.
“Rod was unjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested in Atlanta,” the team said. “This unit focuses on high arrest numbers instead of real public safety, and our client was targeted because of that quota-driven approach.”
The lawyers added that they intend to challenge the case in court and expose what they described as “clear violations of his rights.”
A History of Legal Run-Ins
This latest arrest isn’t Rod Wave’s first brush with the law. Earlier in 2025, he was accused of firing a Glock 20 pistol during a dispute at his Atlanta-area home — an incident that allegedly violated his active bond from a 2020 battery case.
He was previously booked in Florida on two counts of firearm possession by a convicted felon, and in 2022, faced allegations of domestic battery — though that case was never prosecuted.
Despite these repeated setbacks, the 25-year-old continues to hold strong fan support, with many calling the recent arrest part of a larger pattern of over-policing high-profile Black artists in Atlanta.
What’s Next for Rod Wave?
As of now, TMZ reports that the APD has not commented on the latest arrest. Rod’s legal team remains confident he will clear his name, describing the case as “baseless and politically motivated.”
Fans continue to rally behind the “Leavin” hitmaker on social media, hoping he’ll be back on stage soon — this time making headlines for his music, not his mugshot.
